After many years collecting books from anywhere that I could find them and much study on the internet

I finally decided to take the step to open a used bookshop. This phase took a long time for me to pick a place.

By a stroke of luck I found a shop at Warners Bay. It was the best place to open a secondhand bookshop. 

After four years at this little shop and with way to many books to fit into three shops. 

I had decided to take my used & second hand books online, consequently I didn't need a high rent outlet 

plus I could rent an industrial unit with a benefit greater size, closer to home and less travel time, I will 

miss my little shop and the fantastic people from Warners Bay & surrounding area thank you.

Now we are at 3/33 Advantage Avenue Morisset The Gateway Estate Morisset NSW 2264 It has taken a lot 

of work, but it gets better every day. From day one we didn't intend to open another book shop, but it just 

had to happen it wouldn't be the same without people telling me about their books. Our business is right 

across the road from Bunnings & just down the road from the Morisset Mega Market 

There is also plenty of off street parking. 

About our shop

From day one we have been voracious collectors from simple paperbacks to fine excellent hardcover and 

sometimes very rare books We are always looking for books of excellent quality. At the moment we have

over one hundred thousand books we are way past counting and we are always looking for great quality 

used books, one thing we are always short of shelving . 

Our Staff

Jim Owens I have collected books it seems forever I think it first started with the books my parents me & my siblings. 

There were the copies of books that I found in an old barn just up the road from home as a kid on Queens rd. 

These books and authors stayed in my memory the memories Australia & Australians long gone but they must

 have stuck with me. I didn't know at the time but this just fed my book collecting soul, over the years I've collected 

many different used & rare books, and I hung on to them until I opened a bookshop. 

Anne Owens became a collector by default, but her ability to remember details and people make her an indispensable 

member of Lake Macquarie Secondhand Books team every now and then she will do a review, Anne mostly does the 

packing and posting, 

Leslie Owens he is a collector of rare and signed books he is rarely in the shop he is always out looking for those 

special editions among his other jobs.

ChrisW  is part time but his music & military book knowledge is quite extensive

We have lots of other people that help us in our quest of books for our customers. We have the odd book scout and also 

people that take pictures or scan books for us.
