And Then the Darkness WILLIAMS, SUE Australia ABC Books 2005 0733312969 / 9780733312960 Paperback Good Condition, nice clean copy great value cheap postage on weekends posted from Australia fast delivery Two young English tourists waylaid in the outback by a predatory stranger, a single gunshot, and then the darkness.Peter Falconio's disappearance sparked one of the biggest manhunts and mysteries in Australia's history. The only witness was Peter's girlfriend, Joanne Lees, who was found wandering the highway, her hands bound in front of her and tape matted in her hair. The only clue was a pool of blood found by police at the back of the couple's Kombi.Joanne's account of her ordeal - the apparent murder of her partner, her binding and gagging, and her miraculous escape into the bush away from her burly attacker and his dog - provoked a frenzy of media interest and a huge police operation, but as clues to the attacker's identity were few and far between and police blunders mounted, doubts about Joanne's story began to surface. Was this seemingly innocent English backpacker a liar, after all?Three years on, the saga continues with the trial of Bradley Murdoch, a gun-happy drifter from Western Australia, numerous conspiracy theories and, finally, the discover of some vital genetic evidence. Nutrition and diet therapy WILLIAMS, SUE RODWELL Times Mirror/Mosby College Pub 1989 0801657318 / 9780801657313 Good , 4to This sixth edition provides abundant information on general and therapeutic nutrition in a format that enhances readability and comprehension. This edition has been expanded to include a chapter on AIDS and to provide more detailed information on enteral and parenteral nutrition. Some chapters have been rewritten to include new material and illustrations have been added. The last edition was published in 1989. Purpose: This book seeks to provide a comprehensive approach to the study of nutrition. It includes the foundations of nutrition with fairly detailed discussions of nutrients, metabolic processes, and nutrition through the life cycle as well as psychological, social, and related aspects of diet and nutrition. Audience: It is a useful reference for clinicians and a fairly complete text for students interested in studying normal and therapeutic nutrition. Features: The thoughtful inclusion of pertinent topics makes this a current and relatively thorough book on the science and application of nutrition. It has important attributes that enhance usability, understanding, and learning. The detailed contents provide a quick summary of topics included in each chapter, and the index helps locate items rapidly. Glossaries within each chapter foster understanding of new terms and concepts. The use of case studies and presentation of issues also promotecomprehension and make the topic pertinent. The challenge to "probe further" encourages the reader to consider the subject in more depth. Current references at the end of each chapter provide a starting point for further research. Review questions help the student to place each major topic in context. Appendixes provide valuable information on various important issues. Assessment: This is an excellent textbook of basic and applied nutrition with a few extremely minor deficiencies. The chapters on applied nutrition in community health are inadequate. In addition, the flow of concepts would be smoother if this topic was placed after the chapter on nutrition through the life cycle. The complexities of therapeutic nutrition are handled clearly, concisely, and completely. Overall, it is an extremely useful resource for students of nutrition and health professionals inclinical practice. Price:

Women of the Outback WILLIAMS, SUE Australia Penguin Books Australia 2008 0718104943 / 9780718104948 Paperback Good Condition, nice clean copy great value cheap postage on weekends posted from Australia fast delivery Drought, flood, harrowing isolation and horrific accidents...the Australian outback is no place for a lady. But the women of the Outback are a different breed: tough, resilient and endlessly resourceful. They're both the backbone and the heart of Australia, keeping their farms going, their families together and their communities alive - and often against overwhelming odds. Maree was left with three small daughters when her husband and young son were killed in a light plane crash. Molly lived alone in a 1920s homestead in the middle of the Simpson Desert for twenty years without even a phone. Alice admits she couldn't tell a cow from a bull when she first went to live in the Outback. This book tells the inspiring stories of fourteen remarkable women, from high-achievers to everyday heroes. Their tales are often heart-rending and regularly touched by tragedy, but are always life-affirming. They portray Outback Australian women as they really are - and as we all wish we might be. Price:
